United Response: One Chelsea Fund
Unstable federal funding and shifting policies are threatening the reduction or elimination of food assistance, specifically SNAP benefits, for local individuals and families in the City of Chelsea.
United Way’s United Response Fund is responding to these direct threats to SNAP, the state’s largest anti-hunger program that serves more than 9,600 people in Chelsea and more than one million people statewide. This is just one example of how federal changes are threatening the safety net and support systems that people rely on in Massachusetts.
In partnership with local leaders in the City of Chelsea, we are doing all we can to help local families and individuals who are being profoundly impacted.
As part of the United Response Fund, the One Chelsea Fund will work with United Way of Massachusetts Bay to raise and quickly distribute funds to local, trusted community-based organizations serving Chelsea and provide emergency food assistance to individuals and families.
