We have launched the United Response Fund as an urgent call to action — not just to support, but to stabilize and strengthen the nonprofit sector that thousands of families rely on every day.
Unstable funding and shifting policies are threatening the reduction or elimination of food assistance, specifically SNAP benefits. Beginning November 1, there will be a delay in the issuance of SNAP benefits until the federal government reopens. United Way is responding to these direct threats to SNAP, which is the state’s largest anti-hunger program that serves more than one million people in our state.
The United Response Fund will provide immediate support and urgently needed stability to our neighbors, frontline organizations, and communities and help ensure United Way is equipped to address as many challenges as we can.
We are calling on our partners — donors, corporations, and foundations — to rise with us in this moment of historic uncertainty.
