Join United Way this October and November for our Board Connection Fall Session!

Our Board Connection program will be held virtually through our Board Connection portal this Fall. Individuals will receive access to recordings of trainings they registered for through the portal as well.

As we work together to increase the diversity on nonprofit boards in our regions. United Way's corporate partner, Sun Life is sponsoring spots for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) & LGBTQIA+ individuals to register for United Way’s Board Connection trainings at no cost. Limited Board Connection Scholarships are available. For scholarship information please reach out to engagement@supportunitedway.org. 

See below for a brief description of what our trainings will entail:

Training Session 1 - Nonprofit 101 and Governance: Dive into the critical basics. Featuring nonprofit professionals and board members sharing their advice and most challenging experiences.
Training Session 2 - Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging: Become a force for social justice in your organization. Explore what diversity, equity, and inclusion really mean and how you can bring this lens to your board work.
Training Session 3 -  Fundraising: Become a fundraising pro! Learn how to fundraise effectively from a nonprofit development professional. 
Training Session 4 - Finance: Get into the nitty-gritty. Covering nonprofit finance including the 990 form and what a healthy nonprofit budget looks like.
